Curriculum & Educational Standards
Built upon internationally recognized K-12 benchmarks (including Common Core Mathematics), bridging visual intuition with rigorous algebraic precision.
Grade-Band Progression Map
Grades K–2: Number Sense & Spatial Foundations
Focuses on establishing rock-solid number sense, counting fluently to 100, basic addition/subtraction within 20, coin recognition, 2D geometric shapes, and early clock reading. Students build mental representations before moving to abstract symbols.
Grades 3–5: Elementary Fluency & Fractions
Transitions into multiplicative thinking: times-table mastery (1–12), multi-digit division with remainders, visual and numeric fractions, decimal place values (tenths and hundredths), perimeter and area calculation, and Quadrant 1 coordinate grids.
Grades 6–8: Pre-Algebra, Ratios & Statistics
Introduces variables and algebraic balancing. Topics include positive/negative integer arithmetic, ratios and unit rates, solving one and two-step linear equations, slopes ($y = mx + b$), probability, central tendency, and the Pythagorean Theorem.
Grades 9–10: High School Algebra 1 & Integrated Geometry
Rigorous secondary mathematics: quadratic formulas, polynomial factoring, systems of equations, linear inequality regions, formal geometric proofs (SSS, SAS, CPCTC), right-triangle trigonometry ($\sin, \cos, \tan$), and exponential models.
Grades 11–12: Advanced Algebra, Pre-Calculus & Intro Calculus
College-prep upper-secondary math: imaginary and complex numbers ($i = \sqrt{-1}$), logarithms, unit circle radian angles, trig identities, rational function asymptotes, vectors, matrices, limits, and the power rule for derivatives.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is MathPulse K-12 completely free to use in classrooms?
Yes! MathPulse K-12 is 100% free and open for public educational use. There are no paywalls, no subscriptions, and no advertisements. Teachers can freely project lessons and assign interactive quizzes to students.
Do students need to create an account or sign in?
No accounts or logins are required. All stars, quiz records, streaks, and bookmarks are stored securely and locally on the student's browser using HTML5 LocalStorage.
How does the platform work offline or on low-bandwidth connections?
The entire platform is built with pure HTML, CSS, and vanilla ES6 modules without heavy runtime frameworks or large media bundles. Sound effects are generated client-side via the browser's Web Audio API oscillators without downloading audio files.
Can I bookmark topics to study later?
Yes! Inside any lesson modal, click the "☆ Bookmark" button. You can then toggle the "★ Bookmarked" filter on the Theorems page to review your saved list anytime.
